WhatsApp’s latest plan to tell users that the platform is safe to use is by using the status message feature.
WhatsApp has had full hands posts on January 6 when they change their privacy and policies. Users become very concerned about the fact that Facebook might read every message they sent and many choose to migrate to other messaging solutions such as telegram and signals. WhatsApp has tried to clarify that private messages on the app are as secure as they always were, but many users are still unsure.
To clarify and ensure users that the platform remains safe, WhatsApp has turned to one of the features in the application to spread the message. Facebook’s message platform had previously issued an official statement and even issued a full-page ad in the newspaper to deliver it.
WhatsApp has now started posting status messages on the application to connect with users directly to try and convince them that chat is encrypted end to the end and nothing, even Facebook, can read it. It’s just between you and the other person you are chatting with.
Whatsapp told the threshold that “There was a lot of information that was wrong and confused around our recent updates and we wanted to help everyone understand the facts behind how WhatsApp protected the privacy and security of people.”
“In the future, we will provide updates to people on the status tab so people hear from WhatsApp directly. Our first update reaffirms that WhatsApp can not see your personal message, and there is no Facebook because they are protected by end-to-end encryption, “Whatsapp was added to the statement.
